Ecological and technological sportswear and lifestyle clothes The Sébola brand is launching its first collection in autumn 2008 comprising of active sportswear and lifestyle clothes. It is made up of sixty or so references for men and women: t-shirts, tank tops, wrap over tops, polo shirts, sweatshirts, shorts and trousers. For the sportswear line the collection is made from technical textiles: the fabrics are recycled polyester-based, a lightweight fabric that breathes, as well as Tencel (a Lyocell wood-based fibre). The clothes have of course been designed to practice sport in, in other words clothes that are above all comfortable, leave room to breathe and protect you from the elements (wind, rain …). For the lifestyle range the products are 100% organic cotton (EKO and GOTS labels). A rigorous approach A rigorous study was carried out to succeed in designing products with three sought-after features: products that are Aesthetic, Technical and Ecological. The brand worked with INNOTEX (an incubator for ENSAIT, the National Institute for the Arts and Textile Industry) over the 2007 – 2008 period to notably carry out research on the best textiles and manufacturers that comply with its ecological objectives. Sébola also benefited from backing from ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency) that financed part of the eco-design project conducted by the CODDE firm according to ISO 14040 and 14044 standards. Accomplished, demanding and qualitative products were created as a result. The Sébola style Fashion designers, graphic designers and artists worked on the cuts, patterns, prints and colours to offer a personal and original range of sportswear and lifestyle clothes. "New primary" colours burst forth in the lifestyle range! Who are we? Philippe de Cagny and Loïc Pollet are behind the project. Loïc, 40 years old, is manager of a textile fashion buying agency and a marathon runner. Within Sébola he is in charge of the product, the eco-design and production. Thanks : Combining ecology, style and technical requirements was therefore not an easy task. It took a lot of work between the project stage and the brand launch. We received precious help from INNOTEX, the ADEME of the Regional Council, OSEO (French establishment giving support to small and medium-sized companies) and ADIT among others.
