The creativity prize was awarded to the English ready-to-wear brand Ada Zanditon. And the panel's special prize rewarded the designs by Satya Jyoti (India) for its social and environmental commitment and its protecting of local know-how.

Ethical fashion is fashion where economic, human and environmental aspects are involved throughout the clothes or accessories manufacturing process without the pleasure angle being obscured.

Image The foundations of the trade show is the ETHICAL FASHION SHOW® CODE OF CONDUCT

Each chosen designer undertakes:

1/ FOR A DESIGN PRODUCED UNDER CONDITIONS RESPECTFUL OF MANKIND:
> To abide by workers conditions in accordance with International Labour Organisation conventions.
> To contribute to developing communities through sustainable investments.
> To respect intellectual property.

2/ FOR A DESIGN THAT MINIMISES THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY'S IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT FROM THE DESIGN VIA THE REALISATION, DELIVERY TO THE END OF THE PRODUCT'S LIFE:
> To favour the use of raw materials and substances that have as little an impact on the environment as possible.

3/ FOR A DESIGN THAT MAINTAINS LOCAL KNOW-HOW:
> To collaborate with local artists; ethical design is a means of providing legibility, durability and protection of specific know-how.

This year the Ethical Fashion Show was visited by 3,500 people including 2,500 professionals (know that the trade show is open to the general public at the weekend) and received a hundred or so exhibitors.

The Ethical Fashion Show has grown in the five years it has existed.

Isabelle Quéhé announced that two international events were going to be launched in 2009: one in Italy, the other in Brazil.

Sébola will attend the next event to be held in Paris!  It was invited by the Ethical Fashion Show thanks to the 2008 Prize.

Thanks!
